Nomo News
Hello Future NWC-J Fans,
The NWC-J continues to get ready for launch this september, and the date has been tentatively announced. Showing respect to the MWA, The first Super Terrific Happy Hour will air the weekend following Devil's Night 8, with the taping occuring the night before from the Sapporo Nakajima Sports Center, as mentioned on the main news page.
Also mentioned on the main page were the signings of two new wrestlers in TORA Wanizame and Frazer Fury. Their profiles are now available in the roster section, and both are great reads. These two have a long history in puroresu and I'm glad they had the courage to come on board a new promotion.
Speaking of signings, Jim Gamias is in negotiations with another strong talent by the name of "Blood Hunger" Ryobe Khan. Half Mongolian, half Japanese, reports have it that Ryobe has quite a temper.
Many fans have asked me to confirm or kill the report that NWCJ and the NWC were in negotiations for NWCJ to hold an exhibition on the Civil War '99 card. I can confirm this. However, at the last minute, both sides amicably decided to scrap the plan. With much of NWCJ's talent still not locked down to iron clad contracts, it's a move that I support.
"T-Rex" Reich was seen working out at NWCJ's gym facilities, and by all accounts, he was impressive. This shoot fighter has had a lot of success in North America and shoot fit in extremely well with the stronger style of wrestling in TJP.
I'd like to clear up a possible misnomer about this column. Everything written is fact. Mr. Shirai's Shirai Sheet will focus on rumor. I surely can't wait for his first column as there is so much exciting information being spread around that I don't feel is appropriate for me to report, but at the same time know you the NWCJ fan should get to read!
There is a reason a Shirai Sheet hasn't been written though. Mr. Shirai and his broadcast partner Steve Higgins have been working together daily to improve their chemistry and their ability to call matches. Steve Higgins is still very inexperienced for a Play By Play man, and Shirai's grasp of the English language is not at all yet perfect, and probably won't be for a long time.
Before I finish up, let me leave you with one last piece of news. TJP has just received a signed letter of intent from a regional champion from the NWC's past. This wrestler has not been seen in over a year, and is sure to make an impact in TJP. It is believed he will not becoming in at launch however, but should come in by the major western holidays of the last three months of the year take place.
